HOW FAR WE’VE COME

(THIS POST WAS DELAYED BECAUSE I JUST RECENTLY GOT INTERNET BACK UP.)

As the majority of the east coast braced itself for the eyes of Irene and all her glory in a hurricane (or tropical storm), I couldn’t help but think how far, as a nation we’ve come.  Almost six years ago around this time, the name Katrina became a moniker associated with the costliest natural disaster our free land has ever seen.  But Sunday was a testament to lessons learned from the past.  Category 5 or no Category at …
