21st Century Renaissance Man
This is just a sprinkle of what goes on in my brain. This is dedicated to my strong passion for writing, and my pursuit of Chasing History. This is my definition.
It’s a double entendre’:
FORMER:
I am a bibliophile. Books directed me to a road of deep admiration for history. Over the course of my ascetics to meaningful pages, I have become enamored by the great leaders that have graced the Earth: The likes of Abraham Lincoln, Napoleon Bonaparte, Henry Kissinger, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Malcolm X, Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord, Klemens von Metternich to name a few. These are examples of the great men and women that have made their own mark on this world; or to our feeble minds, it takes a longer time to scroll down on their Wikipedia page. I try to take the greatest attributes of these great leaders and minds, and internalize them as my own.
LATTER:
This a much simpler notion. Simply put, everyday I try to be the best I can be. Carpe Diem is a fashionable cliche’. But how about CARPE DIEM – CARPE NOCTUM? I give my all to this life I live. I owe it to myself. I have no fear of dying, only a deep fear of not trying. I call it CHASING HISTORY because I set a bar high for today and tomorrow. I’m trying to be BETTER THAN YESTERDAY, but aren’t we all?
When you strip it down like that, does anyone refute me that you, yourselves aren’t “Chasing History?” What else is there to do when you look at it like that?
