WHAT I LEARNED ON SUNDAY: ENDING IS EVERYTHING

A CRUTCH IN CLUTH.

A CRUTCH IN CLUTH.

On the very first bye week of football in the New Year, sports fans were treated to a tension filled, playoff-type game between two elite teams of the NBA in the Chicago Bulls and the villainous Miami Heat.  The game was 47 minutes of high virtuosity from the leagues best, pitting last year’s MVP Derrick Rose, and the previous MVP Lebron James trading dunks, floaters, fade-away threes, and other Sports Center 10 ten nominee plays.  But there’s only one problem in that.  In a professional basketball …

What I Learned on Sunday: The Many Faces of Fans.

LEE EVANS. DROPPED IT LIKE IT'S NOT.

LEE EVANS. DROPPED IT LIKE IT'S NOT.

Truth be told, through and through, I’m a Baltimore Ravens fan.  It’s the National Football League, and it seems as though America and their fans have a maniacal obsession with their respective teams.  I just so happen to live close to Baltimore, but far enough for no one to share my sentiment in love for the team.  NY, naturally and rightly so, is scattered with Giant and Jet fans all over.

The fate of the Raven season was sealed by a wide …

What I Learned This Week. SPORTS RUNS MY LIFE!!

Newark.

Newark.

All sorts of sports ran my life over the weekend, but for real, let’s keep it 100% – sports don’t really run my life – it is my life. I feel ambiguously guilty, yet presumably innocent, fully implicating my love affair with sport and wiping those guilty hands of mine on my wife – who has slowly become tainted. It was just yesterday that we saw Tim Tebow, with the help of his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ throw long balls all day against the #1 defense in the …

Lebron. D-Wade. Eddie Curry. And the suits.

THE HEATLES, UNABLE TO PERFORM IN ATLANTA, GA.

THE HEATLES, UNABLE TO PERFORM IN ATLANTA, GA.

Tomorrow my wife Ayda and I will be embarking on a road trip to see the 2012 Miami Heat, live.  They play the New Jersey Nets at the Prudential Center in Newark.  Yesterday, I got a glimpse of the Heat, albeit some of their marquee players sat out with injuries.  This got me disappointed.

Surely the good people of Atlanta, fans of the Hawks, or those that just wanted to catch the Heat, were sorely disappointed like me seeing Lebron James …

Here’s a shocker.  SERENA DOESN’T LOVE TENNIS. Don’t believe me? Click here.  Her father Richard and her sister Venus, wouldn’t be proud.  For someone that has 27 grand slams to her name, who put blood, sweat, and way over 10,000 hours to the game of tennis, this is quite a revelation. But this isn’t really hard to believe.

Take for instance, my book review on Andre Agassi, and his autobiography, Open, that I read late last year, where that revelation was revealed initially …

NHL 5TH ANNUAL WINTER CLASSIC – PHILADELPHIA FLYERS VS. NEW YORK RANGERS

WINTER CLASSIC!

WINTER CLASSIC!

As a victim of circumstance, the fate of the NBA lockout upon me, I found myself with nothing to watch all November and most December of last year.  Hockey, I decided would be my saving grace. It used to be one of my on-the-low loves, hitting a rubber ball as a kid with my left-handed stick pretending I was Mark Messier and Wayne Gretzky. My love of the game got further cemented playing classic video games such as Blades of Steel for the Nintendo and NHL Hockey 91’ …
